This tutorial will help you make cut scalloped edged paper or element in Digital Image Pro.

Open up a new document - I will be making a 4x6 photo border for a picture so I will open up a document slightly larger. 5x7 at 200 or 300 dpi.

I am going to paint using stamps to make a scalloped edge.

Select the 3rd stamp (stamp with shapes) and then select the circle for the stamp.

I have my size set at about 87, you can change this to what ever size you want the edge to be. Now this is the hard part. Click and drag your mouse down one side of your document. Don't worry if it gets messy of off. You can always click on undo last action to start over. (it took me about 10 times to get it right).

Once you have one side stamped then go down the bottom side.

Once you have the side and bottom. Duplicate your layer (Control D). Then click on Format >Flip and flip the layer both directions.

Now we want to fill inside of our edge. Select Add Something > Shape and click on the rectangle shape tool.

Draw out the rectangle (inside our scalloped edge). Then flatten all the layers together (you need to first select all three layers by Control and click on each layer).

Once you have all these layers connected you can fill this with the patterned paper of your choice. Click on Effects > Fill with Texture or Color > the select picture > Open a picture.

Browse for the paper you want and click ok.

After a few seconds you now have a wonderful scalloped edge to use over and over again in Digital Image Pro.
