DIP 10 Round Corners and Slides:

In this two part tutorial I am going to show you how to make a rounded corner photo and then how to make a slide with rounded corners.

Part 1- make a rounded corner photo.

First open up your new document. Then select Insert> shape and chose the rounded corner rectangle.

Next change the size by dragging on one of the corners. Now make sure the shape is the active layer you are working on.

Next select Effects >Fill with Texture or Color, select on Picture.

Then search for the picture you would like to use. Or if the picture is already open and in the Files Palette, you may simply double-click on it.

You can size your picture by dragging on the corners; you can also move it around to place it in the frame as you wish. Once you have it to best suit your needs, click done. This will flatten the images together to make a rounded corner.

You can add effects to this. For example to give it a soft edge, select Effects> Edges >soft and move the slide to control the effect. Click done when you have the effect you are looking for.

Part 2- Now we will make a rounded corner slide out of a background paper.

Create a round corner shape as we did in part one of this tutorial.

Fill shape with picture (same as part 1 of tutorial) but this time select your background you would like to turn into a slide. Move it around and resize it to meet your needs. Click done.

Now we need to cut out the inside of the slide. At this point I think it is easier to work with the rulers turned on. View> rulers. Now drag your rulers in to align where you will be working.

Create another rounded corner shape and place this on top of the first backgound image.

Select both images and lock together by clicking on the lock.

Use your magic wand to select the inside center (white color)

Once the inside is selected hit delete. You now have a rounded corner slide. Now just add a slight drop shadow for more realism.

If you have the filter Eye Candy you could add a slight bevel for more realism.
